Teaching

Justin values above all else meeting students where they are. Students come to music from innumerable backgrounds, and his goal as a teacher is to grow their musical knowledge by connecting with prior knowledge and experience. In all teaching, he embraces interdisciplinarity, providing multiple entry points and shared concepts for students. Long term, his goal is to create a community of scholar-teachers to enable students to have agency in their own learning.

Justin is Assistant Professor of Horn at Tennessee Tech University. You can learn about the music program at https://www.tntech.edu/fine-arts/music/. You can send Justin a message if you're interested in taking a lesson or studying at Tech!
